Emily's music has been performed at various NYC venues including 54 Below, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Pearl Theatre Company, Studio Tisch, Sidewalk Café, Slipper Room, the Lark, Access Theatre, TBG Theatre, IRT Theatre, Dixon Place, Underground Lounge, Morbid Anatomy Museum, Cameos and Bowery Poetry Club. Emily is a resident artist at Shawn Randall's interdisciplinary show Symphonics Live, and is an alum of the Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project and the New Dramatists Composer-Librettist Studio. In September, she will write her musicals at Catwalk Residency in the NY Catskills.

Musicals by Emily include untitled Cherry Orchard musical (music/lyrics/book), inspired by Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, which will receive a 29-hour reading at Boomerang Theatre Company in September 2018, directed by Ed Iskandar.

Other works include a rock-pop feminist adaptation of Cymbeline, from Shakespeare's Cymbeline (music/lyrics), and an anime play with music with an electronic pop score, I Am This For You, which will receive a reading at the culmination of Rising Circle INKtank's PlayRISE festival in June 2018.

Recent commissioned songs: “If You Can’t Fly” for IRT/New Ohio Theatre Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration; "Hand-Me-Down" for Dixon Place Black Lives Matter event; "What Is Freedom" for a Juneteenth (Emancipation Day celebration); a new song for singer Michael Deleget at MuseMatch X at 54 Below.

She composes music for film, including short film Summer and the theme to Willful Pictures' web series How Shakespeare Changed My Life, a series of interviews with prominent Shakespeareans such as James Earl Jones and Liev Schreiber.

She composes music for theatre, including As You Like It (dir. Louis Scheeder & Daniel Spector), CymbelineJulius Caesar, and eurydice. Other compositions include a commissioned work for organ and choir for performance in St. Paul's Cathedral.

Her work as a sound designer includes Rising Circle Rep's workshop of Deepa Purohit's Have Sari. Will Travel! at TheaterLab, and Jillian Walker's SKiNFoLK at Ars Nova ANT Fest 2017.

Emily (left) played guitar, piano, viola, accordion as well as sang and acted in Tony Lawton and Alex Bechtel's The Light Princess at the Arden Theatre Company. Here's a video of the cast recording one of the songs from the show.


Emily sings these songs from Snow Queen, an Appalachian musical by Laurelyn Dossett. Emily originated the role of the Snow Queen at Triad Stage, NC.
